Over 300kg of Gigantopithecus Teeth Specimen

We study animal specimens to understand ourselves. Where do we come from? How did we evolve to what it is now? In 1935, anthropologists discovered the extinct giant apes in Chinese pharmacies, gigantopithecus, which is by far the largest primate. So far, all our understanding of this species is based on the discovery of many teeth specimens and a few mandible specimens. A few days ago, Chinese and Danish scientists extracted genetic material from gigantopithecus tooth specimen 1.9 million years ago. It is speculated that the gigantopithecus is more than 2 meters tall and weighs more than 300 kilograms. I was shocked when I saw this news. The current human teeth specimens is too small compared to the gigantopithecus teeth. I can't imagine what it would be like if we stood next to ancient human specimens.
